Oral Cancer Screening

Though the specific cause of cancer cannot be identified, medical research has uncovered many risk factors that contribute to the disease.  Some of these risk factors are in our control while others, like our genetic makeup are not.

A hereditary Cancer Risk Assessment is available to help identify if you are at a higher risk for developing certain cancers due to an inherited gene mutation. We can do an assessment of over 30 genes known to be associated with hereditary cancer syndromes.

What is a Gene Mutation?  Genes are made up of DNA the blueprint of life. Sometimes, there are permanent alterations that occur in your DNA that may be inherited or acquired. Mutations that are found in family members are hereditary mutations. Inherited genetic mutations are linked to 15-20 percent of all cancers.  We can isolate these and provide alternative health measures to keep you healthy.
